Geographical Processes...
There are many geographical processes acting on this part of the coast; Wollongong Harbour, including erosion; the removal of rock and sand particles, deposition; the depositing of sand and rock particles and transportation, the transporting of sand and rock particles. Corrosion, corrasion and hydraulic action are all features of erosion and all take part in some way along the coast of Wollongong. All of these processes are results of wind and wave action along the coast and in Wollongong; there is plenty of visual evidence provided to prove this.
The Effect of these Processes...
There are various effects of these geographical processes acting on this part of the coast. Erosion has the most significant and obvious effect, such as; cracks in rocks, potholes in rocks and headlands formed. Erosion takes part in the creation of these feature, however, both deposition and transportation take part in forming the coast of Wollongong as well. Transportation is the process in which sand and other materials is transported to be deposited onto other beaches to form beaches or sand dunes. These features are all exhibited at Wollongong Harbour and has effected the shape of the coastline in many different ways, as just stated.
